Department of Research and Compilation (Dār al-Taḥqīq wa al-Taṣnīf)

Every distinguished academic and religious institution maintains a department dedicated to research and compilation. The purpose of this department is to produce, edit, translate, annotate, and refine scholarly works in the field of Islamic sciences.
At AAS Academy, Alḥamdulillāh, this important department is fully functional, where expert scholars and specialists are engaged in valuable intellectual and research-based projects that serve the cause of sacred knowledge.

Scholarly Contributions of the Department

Through the continuous efforts of the learned scholars associated with this department, several significant works have already been completed and published:

  1. Āsān Tarjumah Mishkāt
    A fluent and accessible Urdu translation of the celebrated ḥadīth collection Mishkāt al-Maṣābīḥ, presented with full diacritical marks, attractive headings, and concise explanatory notes. It serves as a beneficial resource for both scholars and the general public.
  2. Masā’il al-Sulūk
    This work compiles all the issues related to taṣawwufand sulūk found in the marginal notes of Bayān al-Qur’ān by Mawlānā Ashraf ‘Alī Thānvī. Each topic has been systematically referenced and categorized under helpful subheadings, making it a rich source for scholars and seekers of the spiritual path.
  3. Ahl Allāh ke Akhlāq wa Awṣāf
    A lucid Urdu translation of Imām ‘Abd al-Wahhāb al-Sha‘rānī’s renowned treatise Tanbīh al-Mughtarrīn, describing the noble qualities, manners, and spiritual traits of the friends of Allah. The translator has also included insightful notes on the conduct that does not befit true saints and scholars.
  4. Din Jo Un Ke Sāth Bīte
    A beautiful collection of sayings, writings, and reflections of the founder of AAS Academy, Pīr-e-Ṭarīqat, Rahbar-e-Sharī‘at, Ḥaḍrat Dr. Shāhid Awais (نور الله مرقده), offering timeless wisdom and guidance on various aspects of life.
  5. Jamāl-e-Hamnasheen
    This compilation includes forty letters and numerous discourses of Ḥaḍrat Dr. Shāhid Awais (رحمه الله), along with biographical essays written by his students and associates after his passing. The book beautifully portrays his pious character and scholarly legacy.
  6. Majmū‘ah al-Fatāwā al-Lakhnawī
    A comprehensive collection of fatāwāby the eminent jurist and scholar ‘Allāmah ‘Abd al-Ḥayy al-Lakhnawī (رحمه الله). Originally written in Persian and now rare in its authentic form, the text has been meticulously edited, restructured, and verified after years of effort. Once published, it is expected to serve as a valuable reference for muftīs and dār al-ifta institutions worldwide.

In addition to these publications, the department has also produced explanatory notes, commentaries, and annotations on several important books of the Dars-e-Niẓāmī curriculum, including:

  • Kifāyat al-Naḥw, a commentary on Hidāyat al-Naḥw
  • Wāfiyah, a commentary on Kāfiyah
  • Taysīr al-Manṭiq, a simplified and modern commentary
  • Tashīl of Intibāhāt-e-Mufīdah
  • Commentary on Qirā’at al-Rāshidah
  • Simple Arabic Tafsīr of Pārah ‘Amma(unpublished)
  • Lesson-wise Urdu Explanation of Pārah ‘Amma
  • Arabic Commentary of Zād al-Ṭālibīn(unpublished)
